28 things to install into Claude for motion graphics

Every repo, the job it does and the line that installs it.

You don't need After Effects for motion graphics.

So I've put the 28 GitHub repos worth installing into one free list, grouped by the job they do. I checked every repo and its install line this week (stars move daily, install lines move less).

Inside you'll find:

  • The full list: 28 repos across five jobs (engines, render, UI parts, sound, skills and MCP).

  • Every link and star count, pulled live from GitHub on 01/10/2026.

  • The install command for each one, ready to paste.

  • Every catch flagged: the paid licences, the accounts and the one that isn't a one-liner.

  • Where to start: one engine and one renderer for your first clip.

The six engines are free to read right here. The other 22 repos, with every install command, are yours when you subscribe (it's free).

What it looks like

Engines and Render: the six libraries that make things move, and the six that turn them into an MP4.

UI parts and Sound: drop-in moving parts, captions from your voiceover, music in code.

Skills and MCP: the installs that teach Claude the craft, including my own 13-skill pack.

How to read this

I've given every entry the same shape.
Name and link → stars, pulled live from GitHub.
What it does → one line, in plain English.
Installs as → how you install it and what it costs.
The command → in the box underneath, ready to paste.

I pulled the star counts live from GitHub on 01/10/2026.

Where to start

Do not install all 28. Start with one engine and one renderer.

If you want my pick, take GSAP (number 6) for the engine and HyperFrames (number 9) for the renderer. GSAP times every move and HyperFrames turns the page into an MP4.

I'd install both, build a 10-second clip, then add the next one.

01 · Engines

What makes things move. Pick one of these first (everything else sits on top).

1. three.js · 116.1k stars
Adds 3D scenes, cameras and light. You get real 3D on a web page, not flat layers.
Installs as: npm package · Free (MIT)

npm install three

2. anime.js · 73.2k stars
Light animation for text, shapes and SVG. You'll pick it up fast, and it's good for animated titles.
Installs as: npm package · Free (MIT)

npm install animejs

3. motion · 33.8k stars
Smooth, springy motion for sites and apps. The second line adds Motion's own Claude skill and MCP server.
Installs as: npm package · Free (MIT)

npm install motion
npx motion-ai

4. react-three-fiber · 32.6k stars
Builds 3D scenes from React parts. three.js, written as React components. The command installs both.
Installs as: npm package · Free (MIT)

npm install three @react-three/fiber

5. lottie-web · 32.1k stars
Plays After Effects animations on the web. Heads up: the last code push was 01/09/2025, so expect stability rather than new features.
Installs as: npm package · Free (MIT)

npm install lottie-web

6. gsap · 28.7k stars
Times every move to the exact frame. You build one timeline and every element hits its mark.
Installs as: npm package · Free, including commercial use and every plugin

npm install gsap

That's the six engines. The other 22 are for subscribers.

Subscribe free and the rest shows up straight away. Here's what's waiting:
